Here is a exciting news to all PUBG lovers, the Battlegrounds which is a PC version of PUBG Mobile and Battlegrounds Mobile India going to be free-to-play(F2P) by January 12, 2022. Krafton, The publisher has announced the same during The Game Awards 2021 on December 9.
CH Kim, CEO of Krafton, Inc
stated: "As PUBG: Battlegrounds pioneered the battle royale genre and has
grown into a globally influential game IP, this is the perfect time to
transition to F2P and welcome new players to the game,"
Krafton has also announced a
pre-registration offer for gamers, along with an "invite a friend"
event and "my PUBG play style" quiz which will all offer rewards once
the upcoming free-to-play game is launched.
According to Kim: “PUBG, which
is currently a paid game, will be free-to-play for all users starting January
12. The game is currently priced at Rs. 999 on Steam in India. The game will be
free to download and play, but Krafton will restrict some items and game modes
to paying gamers. Players who choose to purchase Battlegrounds Plus, a $12.99
(roughly Rs. 980) ‘upgrade’ to the free version, will gain access to
special in-game rewards, plus ranked and additional custom match modes”
PUBG gamers who have
already purchased the Battle Royale will receive the PUBG - Special
Commemorative Pack, which will include the Battlegrounds Plus account upgrade,
as well as goodies such as the Battle-Hardened costume skin set, the Shackle
and Shanks Legacy Pan, and the Battle-Hardened Legacy nameplate.
The free-to-play version of the
game will be available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series
S, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One. As the January 12 date approaches, Krafton has
announced three promotional events which gamers can participate in, to win
in-game rewards.
For this purpose, all
PUBG users need to link their Krafton ID to their gaming platform before
January 12 to receive a Highside Slick Backpack, Highside Slick Top, and two
Preset Slot Coupons valid for seven days.
Besides that, gamers can invite
three friends before January 12 to win a Highside Slick Helmet, Iron G-Coin
Box, and a Bonus Reward. The last event, called "My PUBG Play Style"
is a quiz that grants gamers a PUBG: Battlegrounds spray, and 10 Contraband
Coupons.
When we talk about the Battleground Plus account upgrade for new PUBG: Battlegrounds players, it will cost them a one-time fee of $12.99 (roughly Rs 985). The account upgrade will also entitle the player with a bonus of 1,300 G-Coin, survival mastery XP with 100 per cent boost, career - medal tab, Ranked mode, custom match functionality, and a plethora of in-game items, such as the Captain’s Camo set, which includes hat, camo mask and camo gloves.
