To encourage students start-up ideas
Delhi government has started a TV event starting Sunday for students to pitch
their projects to investors as part of its ‘Entrepreneurship Mindset
Curriculum’.
The government started the ‘Business Blasters’
initiative across all its senior secondary schools in September by giving Rs
2,000 as seed money to class XI and XII students to develop their
entrepreneurship ideas. 51,000 entries have already been submitted by 3 lakh
students.
For the purpose the government have tied up
with a few TV channels, where students will be pitching their ideas to Deputy
Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and business people including Urban Company CEO
Abhiraj Singh Bhal, Chaayos founder Nitin Saluja, and SHEROES CEO Sairee Chahal.
Manish Sisodia spoke during his PC: "For the
first time, we are telling students to dream of a business, Delhi government
schools have around 350,000 students in classes 11 and 12. We asked them for
business ideas and received around 51,000 ideas, These ideas will be taken to
the last stage in February, when we will connect investors with the 10 best
ideas. We will give direct admission to the top 100 students into institutions
such as Delhi Technological University"
This TV show will be an eight-episode TV program featuring its ambitious Business Blasters scheme.
