'Only Indian' is taking milk from Junagadh temples and distributing it among the poor |
According to the National Family Health Survey - conducted by the Government of India in 22 states in the year 2020, cases of nutritional deficiency are increasing successively in the country. Complaints of anemia among backward, slum or urban-rural women is being common now. Whereas, hundreds of children are being born malnourished. Furthermore, the height of children under five years of age is below normal in 13 states. At the same time, in 12 states, the weight of children of the same age is not according to their height. Unavailability of food and milk are the only reasons behind all these dilemmas, though it is essential for the physical and mental growth of any child.
There is also a view of our country
where everyday liters of milk is offered to the idols of God in the temples,
which eventually flows into the drains and is being wasted.
Have you ever thought what other use can be made
of this milk? Or would God himself be pleased with this waste? Keeping all
these things in mind, a 70-year-old man from Junagadh from Gujarat is doing a
noble job towards society and is using this milk offered in the temples for the
physical development of the deprived babies.
Every Monday
or in the month of Shravan, devotees visit the temples and offer thousand liters
of milk every day to the idols, which later flows into the drains and goes
wasted. In such a situation, this person of Junagadh goes to different temples
of the city and collects that milk first,
then after boiling and mixing
sugar in it, distributes it among such poor children, women and elderly people
who do not even get clean water.
Junagadh’s ‘Only Indian’ man does the real
service of god and humanity
The 70-year-old man, resident of Junagadh in Gujarat
does not want to reveal his identity and loves to address himself as 'Only Indian',
even the people of Junagadh have also started knowing him by the same name.
This extraordinary man believes that duty towards humanity and society is
above every name, caste and religion. According to him it is not right to
divide the nation on communal basis.
He saw that after offering milk to the Shivling in the
temples, the same milk was being wasted in the drains. Then 'Only Indian'
decided to use it properly and distribute it among the needy kids and women.
To make this plan a reality, he started 'Indian Milk Bank'
in the year 2013. For this he has kept boxes in 9 temples of Junagadh city. On
normal days 5-7 liters of milk gets collected in these boxes whereas on Mondays
35-40 liters gets collected. Devotees give full cooperation in this work of
'Only Indian'. Now people offer some milk to Lord Shankar and put the remaining
milk in the boxes kept in the temple.
'Only Indian'
also running an NGO
This socially dedicated 70-year-old man called 'Only Indian' has also been
running an NGO since 26 January 2012, which he runs without any support. He
says- "Thousands of liters of milk is offered to Shivling in the month of
Sawan, which gets wasted by flowing. I am not against Lord Shankar or his
devotees at all, it is undoubtedly a matter of faith, which cannot be ignored.
But where poor children and women become victims of serious diseases due to
lack of this milk in our country, it is not good that the same milk to be
wasted by flowing into the drains. In fact, God may also feel bad for this
act."
70 years old 'Only Indian' does the real service of God and humanity |
God resides in children, then how is it bad to please him:
Only Indian
'Only Indian' says- “I start taking cans of milk from
every temple by 11 am, then I boil
and add sugar in it. After that,
I taste that milk first and then distribute it to children up to 11 years of
age, women and old people. When this milk brings a smile to someone's face,
nothing could be better than that feeling.
After all, these children are a little
part of our Lord, if they remain hungry
and deprived, God may also feel bad for them".
It is really admirable, that even
at the age of 70, the 'Only Indian' is engaged in accomplishing his objective
with the help of a cycle. Every morning, irrespective of the weather he
goes to the underprivileged areas of the city and distributes milk among the
poor ones, so that no needy would remain left.
